Trying to make a 3D printer!

I saw Ben's video on how to make a portable 3D printer, and want to try it. What parts would I need? How to program the 3D printer to take an SD card? How do you get a 3D printer to print off an SD? Just put the image on it?

    Im not sure how to make Bens portable printer i will let him step in to do that but for your other questions on what parts to make a 3d printer and so on i can help you with that.  Do make any 3D printer will will need the basic parts.  These are some form of a controler board(Ramps,Sanguinololu,Rambo, and the list goes on), Stepper motors and hotend.  Now this is just the basics.  To get the printer to print using and sd card all you need to do is get a board that has a expansion slot for a SD card.  Most boards out there do.  To get it to print from the sd card you would load the g-code file onto the card.  A good resource for 3D printers is reprap.org.
