Java/C Integration

C is very good for programming embedded devices, but maybe a high level language like Java could increase productivity for some parts e.g. the application layer. If Java software components could be

integrated seamlessly into an existing software stack written in C, would you consider using it?

  • My preference is to avoid languages that may be encumbered with patents, especially if the sponsor of the language has shown itself to be a patent aggressor.  For that reason, it's probably best to stay away from Java and also to stay away from C#.  Why run an unnecessary risk when there are so many wonderful languages available?
