How many of you still use a paper catalog to find electronic component products?

How many of you still use a paper catalogue to find your electronic component products?   Is there anyone strictly using only the paper catalogue still?  Do you only use online catalogue?  If not, how are you searching for and finding products you need for your projects?

  • I like reading from paper because it is easier on my eyes, but I never look up parts or technical literature on paper anymore. I once collected 14 full sized bookcases filled with catalogs and technical literature, but this is trimmed down to 2 and I never use these paper catalogs anymore. There are just too many benefits to on-line data and too many drawbacks to paper. My entire workflow is paperless, except when I am actually assembling a circuit. Search engines and selector guides are the most common methods for me to find parts, but I also read on-line articles, publications, announcements and flyers. A good search engine is an extremely important requirement for any sales operation - I certainly spend far more time on web sites that have great search engines, and it is a significant factor in where I buy parts. I buy parts on-line anywhere from several times per month to several times per day and probably average several times per week.
