Hello Community
I am so glad I found this community and look forward to learning as much as I can.
I have been designing chips(FPGAs), boards and systems, analog and digital for over 30 years but I am just starting to learn a little software development for the BeagleBone Black so I thought I would join this community.
Trying to learn Linux OS, Javascript, and Python. I have a whole wireless controlled system designed and built and hardware tested, using a BBB as the controller and I am now trying to learn enough software to write the menu and control software for the system. I design a lot of FPGAs using both Verilog and VHDL but never any real software so this is new and exciting for me. I do know enough to understand there is a HUGE difference between a HDL to design hardware and software design. Being able to do one does not mean you can do the others. My first struggles are the tools, which I find harder to learn than the language. Also typing in character after character and command after command to do anything in Linux makes me feel like using a PC back in the days of DOS (1980's).
