hello,
this is my first post on element14, and i am a beginner when it comes to knowledge of the raspberry pi.
i am building a midi keyboard with a win 10 mini-pc (i'm planning on using a kangaroo - explained below) and am looking for a touchscreen that i can build into the case with the keyboard and mini-pc. I was wondering if the raspberry pi touchscreen is compatible with a non raspberry-pi win 10 micro-pc? I am a touring musician, and desperately have a need for an enclosed midi system running windows, with as few options to destroy it as possible. this is why i am leaning towards the kangaroo mini pc - it is in an enclosed box, there is little needed programming/engineering work from me - which is a very good thing - my talents lie in music makings, not so much in device buildings. on stage i have a huge need for reliability, and that has played a huge portion into why i chose the kangaroo pc over the raspberry pi board, although the original idea for this came from watching you maker-peoples work that raspberry into so many cool things. as i am not talented in the way you guys are, i decided to ask your advice.
Would it be possible to use the raspberry pi screen for a win 10 pc and still use the touch capabilities?
would i have to buy a raspberry board and hook that up to the kangaroo to do it?
i did find some touchscreens compatible with win10, but most were 10'' or larger, which is too large, and over 200$ which is more than i would want to spend on the screen alone as i hope to be able to build these as needed, if one breaks, etc. (i should be able to re-use the simple midi keyboard and casing, should any knocks, or disasters happen)
so i'm really trying to do this build for under 300$ total, and the raspberry pi screen is really a great price, seems perfect for what i want to do with it, it's just i'm not actually an engineer or even a hobbyist device hacker.
thank you for any help.
