I am trying to figure out how a bowtech subsea LED light is able to be dimmed. I have had hands on experience with home projects that I have dimmed my LED lights using pulse wave modulation so I understand the very basics of dimming an LED.
The manual for the subsea unit only gives the following information information: "The dimming control signal is similar to that of a camera in that the longer +12v is held on the pin the brighter the lamp becomes and the the longer you hold -12v on the pin the dimmer the lamp becomes".
I presume there is something in the light unit its self, that changes the negative or positive input control voltage into, I guess, a pulse modulated signal that dimms the light? I just think I am missing something and I presume it has to do with tri-state (control) logic that I do not understand very well. I am a hydraulics technician so I apologise for any wrong use of terminology!
