Prototype for user interface

gag
gag over 8 years ago

I want to know parts and where to put them. I want to know how to program it.

It is an arduino based user interface which when open looks like a computer without a search engine. It has files on screen. one file when clicked on lets me see cameras that I have set up (I would need to know how to set up the cameras so I could see them). Another file would hold documents that I put in though a flashdrive and same with a photos and videos file. it would be touch screen and a keyboard would be able to open up if I wanted to so I could take notes (notes is another file). It would buzz if my security alarm goes off (which would also have to somehow be connected to the device). It would be able to connect a keyboard instead of using the touchscreen. And I wold give it three or more USB ports and one or two HDMI ports. There might be more but this is it for now.

I apologize to my fellow Bloggers/Comment(ers) for my solution posted at element14 community Again for the millionth Time. Get: (a) RaspPi 3, (b) SmartiPi Touch Case (buy the one w/ Lego Noobs), (c) 7" Touch Screen for RaspPI, (d) USB Mouse and USB Keyboard, (2) uSDcards for getting Raspbian and Minibian (if you want to play w/ RaspPi's GPIO), (e)Take a MOOC course(s) on the RaspPi. I favor udemy.com {caution this is a Paid $$ Site. Courses are NOT Free but reasonably priced) The instructor Peter Dalmaris is Great. And he is an Aussie. BTW you will need a Dremel Tool to cut access to the HDMI Connector on the RaspPi 3. Then use a Right-Angle HDMI Adapter. BTW the Access to GPIO headers are already cut-out for you. If you insist on Arduino, get a Gertduino (this is = to an Arduino, but made to connect to the RaspPi). But a word of caution, the Gertduino only uses 26 out of the 40 GPIO Pins on the RaspPi 3. Again, another job for a Dremel Tool. This element14 site has videos on the Gertduino. As for a (video) camera the RaspPi 3 has a connector for a RaspPi Camera. BUT if you want your Camera to be Remote, you can buy an additional RaspPi Zero (get the one w/ the Camera Connector). But you are on your own establishing Wireless(?) connection between the 3 and the Zero. I have a WiFi -Windows based security system from D-Link Components,. Ergo, I am not doing anything w/ RaspPi Camera(s) although I have one.

I am a Patent Atty in the USA. I just dabble a bit w/ this RaspPi Stuff for "Giggles". And to gauge the potential P/A (Prior Art, a Legal Patent Term (word))

BUT my RaspPi path is to use Mathworks' Matlab/simulink to program Both the RaspPi and Gertduino (and by extension the Arduino). Who knows maybe I can incorporate a RaspPi in a Means+Function Patent Claim? OR have a Business Method Claim where the "Specialized Computer" is a RaspPi. But this is conjecture on my part and NOT to be meant as Legal Advice (in the US).
