IR LED circuit needed

tango13
tango13 over 7 years ago

Hi, I need help with a circuit diagram for the following.

A 24 IR LED array with a to act as an illumination source for a low ligh camera.

The PHOTOCELL is to switch on the circuit once the natural light drops to the point where illumination for the camera will be needed.

The PWR source is a 14.8V 4s 20000mAh Lipo Battery.

The IR LEDS are OSRAM IR Emitter 950NM 70mA with a forward Voltage of 1.6V (part number SFH 4243-Z)

The Photocell is a Luna Optoelectronics 550nm with a cell resistance of 20 - 100kOhm @ 10Lux (part number NSL-06S53)

The part numbers give are manufactures part numbers.

As I am basically clueless any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi Deon,

Check out this web page: 1 - 200 Transistor Circuits  , search for "Night Light" and there is a circuit there that requires transistors and a relay. You can use that to control your LEDs.

Power the circuit from the battery (14.8V is fine with that circuit). Your photocell will be fine with that circuit.

Put a string of six LEDs, and a 68 ohm 0.5 Watt resistor in series, and then that can be powered off the 14.8V battery (switched by the relay).

Repeat for all the other LEDs too, and they can also be controlled by the same relay.

It is a lot of effort though, there are off-the-shelf options that will be a lot cheaper:

    Hi,

I don't know if you've found a solution by this time; if not, I design this kind of stuff... See my CV at: https://scarydesign.wixsite.com/miketripoli
