Places and people in Victoria bc

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong spot. I've finally been able to register. I found out about element14 through "benheck" years ago. Any way, I absolutely love building electrical things and programming and what not. My question is, does any one know of places in Victoria bc I can go to get parts? I'm looking for Arduino based stuff at the moment. Currently I'm using an Arduino Uno to make car guages work with racing games. I'm also looking for some people to hang out with and learn from as I learn best by being shown hands on and could use the friends.

    Hi Dillon,

Welcome to the forum. I am in Wisconsin USA so I am too far away to be of much help in person but I wanted to welcome you. It would be nice if there is someone in your area but if not it would be fun to have you post some of your projects so we could see what you are working on. This is a great place as the guys are all friendly and not judgmental. Electronics is a lot of fun and there is endless things to learn and do.

Thanks for reply, I'm excited to explore here and learn from other projects and people, I just have to find pictures of my old ones image. I excelled in school but I don't retain info very well. Like math, I know what goes where. It's just WHAT goes there is the issue. Once I get proper internet again I could even do voice and video chat. I like making things that have a use, no matter what it is. Even a kinetic sculpture. My first project was an ultraviolet flashlight. My current project, I love racing and used to have an old tachometer working through an Arduino. But I'd like to get more and have them setup In a way that it looks like self decor, but a game comes on and and they all light up and start working. I want to make a full scale rc car like grant imahara used to for Mythbusters. But have it so it looks and drives normal if you don't know.

It sounds like you will have a lot of fun on the forum. If you find members that are doing projects that interest you click on their name and a link will take you to their profile. In the profile you can click on a tab that says content and you will get all the articles and blogs that that person has published.
