Hello everyone!
I am not sure whether this is the right place to post, but here it goes. I am having trouble disabling the Immobilizer on my dad's Vitara. He swapped in a new engine and ECU, but forgot to pick up the immo box with key, so he said fix it and took my car to drive to work
. Anyway, I need to Read and modify the data stored on an OKI M951G EEPROM. I am using an XP8710 programmer and I read it as a 93lc56 as suggested on various forums. When I try to write the data I get a write error on the second byte, when I read the data back there is indeed a single byte of data written on it. I can erase the chip fine, but it refuses to write. In case the memory is corrupt, is there a replacement for it? I read somewhere that the 59C11 (which is near impossible to find) is a direct replacement and the 93LC56/93C56 could work also, the difference being larger memory capacity.
Thanks in advance!
Update: The 93C56 ended up working fine!
