I'm trying to get a driver so that I can view information from my oscilloscope on my laptop (win 7, 64 bit). The vendor does not have functional software and Microsoft has not been helpful thus far. Your thoughts please....

I suggest you tell us the make and model number of your 'scope, and what interface options are installed.

It is an Owon Smart DS5032E o'scope, 30 MHz, 250 MSa/s. It is connected to my laptop using a USB cable.
Owon don't seem to publish any scope USB protocol information. there is an open source Linux driver effort you could Google for but expect much work to port anything to Windoes. You can download Owon's own software - is this unsuitable ?
Where did you buy the scope - they ought to be the first base for helping you here.

I bought it thru Amazon, and they referred me to the vendor or return it. Owon's software is not completely compatible with win 7 and does not contain a workable driver. Their tech. folks in Hong Kong verified this.
