Noticing a pattern of logging in

Has a maintenance routine been established that clears users connections at a specific interval, requiring them to log in?

I've noticed a pattern of having to log in to the site, that seems to occur once a week. I enter full credentials and check the captcha along with the remember me radio button and encounter no difficulty. It seems a week later I'm doing the same thing. I can recall on the old site going extended periods of time without having to log in.

The reoccurring login is not causing a problem, other than I may shorten the password to something that I can remember. I have to open my password protector to gather the cryptics it has generated since the last time I change the password.

I think I see a pattern of logging in and wanted to ask.

It's typical for the cookies that relate to being logged in, and remembering if you're logged in, in have a life cycle. Some sites restrict this to 24 hours for security reasons, I think when we were on Jive we had it set to 30 days or something, it's likely for Verint it's a week or two.

I was taught to change gears in a standard transmission vehicle by listening to the engine and not watching the Tac. When I ask drivers why they change gears late or early, they have pointed to the Tac range. Logging in is something I do but when I do it more than usual I tend to notice.

    Thanks for the reply.

    What's a "standard transmission".  (Just kidding, I drive a 6 speed with a clutch)

six-speed. And here I thought the five was premium. I learned with four on the column in a truck.

I haven't deduced why I seem to need to login twice daily, I suspect it's browser settings/extensions related for me.
