Comment from a new user.  I first came to the site from shabaz's recent, excellent, KiCad video, poked around for a few minutes then left because it was too hard to figure out where the forums are.  There is a very prominent "Recent Content" section but it doesn't help to see the titles of all the forums.  I finally found something that pointed me to the Products section which appears to be the only way to see the forums(?).  In the limited time I've been on the site, it looks like it was spec'ed by the Avent Sales & Marketing depts to serve their needs and not ours...  Here is my radical suggestion, a "Forum" link in that big blue bar at the top of the entry page...  Also, what's with the Javascript on this page?  I press a key and it shows up a second later.

    I've split your comment off from the thread /products/pcbprototyping/f/forum/51300/which-pcb-fabrication-manufacturer-do-you-use so as to not derail the thread and you have some points here that I felt should be addressed in a more on-topic dedicated thread.

    We're using a platform/content system called 'Verint' , and it is categorised and managed into 'groups'.

    You can see a list of these groups in the sitemap on the left hand side, you can also browse a selection of these groups from the navigation menu at the top of the page:

    Each of these groups may or may not have a 'forum' inside them. Verint calls these contents of groups 'applications', why they choose that name? I really do not know.

    You can navigate these 'applications' via the sub menu in a group:

    A group may have many forums, or it may only have one forum.

    You can also subscribe to notifications on forums, threads, and other content. Here's an example layout of navigating the whole thing:

    The element14 Community is owned by Avnet, but more closely works with and under Farnell, Newark and element14 in the asia-pacific region.

    The site wasn't spec'ed up by Avnet sales and marketing, but I do agree that sometimes staff do think more about what they want to show than how it'll be received. I take that very seriously and work with the development team for the site, and the platform vendor in an attempt to improve that experience, you can see a bunch of that in Feedback and Support where usually, a comment like yours is best to reside so that it's better collected together and put forward to the dev' team. I also address most questions in the Site FAQ
