Question of the Month: When you visit the element14 community, what are you looking for the most?

We're interested in finding out what kinds of things you like and are looking for at Element14. Take the poll and let us know what you're looking for when you visit the community, and if there's anything you think would be a cool addition, please tell us in the Comments section below!

  • I have a great time just interacting with the other members.

    I have made many friends and I find the diversity of talents very stimulating.

  • I don't think of it as a single most important reason. It is a package deal and there is a lot in the package: finding out new (to me) technical information, learning how others solve problems, helping and encouraging others, challenging myself to do projects with help and encouragement from the forum, engaging in discussion with others who have similar interests and have interesting things to say, helping to build my capabilities and infrastructure though corporate and forum sponsorship of contests, opening up to other perspectives and generally stimulating my mind and engaging in interesting pursuits. When I log in, I enjoy a positive experience, no flames, no negative baggage and it is a self reinforcing reason to visit.

  • I'm an "other" in the survey results. I check in to get a technical fix. This could be any of the other selections in the survey or look for something interesting to read about.

  • There are many reasons to visit the element14 community, but my primary reason for being here is 'community'.  It is a part of the name, but the most compelling reason.  I am also here to learn, share and to encourage others to do the same.

  • I missed the early Usenet engineering forums where we met mainly with university researchers from almost all over the world in an atmosphere of respect and knowledge sharing.

    I met the element14 community just a couple of years ago and it reminded me a lot of that respectful community atmosphere. And here I am hooked.

  • Other. I'm most interested in the technical blogs from other members (and some of the comment discussions that ensue).
