Welcome akmetal. As others have said, this site is full of information and resources. Best of all because much of the content is produced by the members themselves the blogs and projects are very diverse. It's always interesting to see how others approach a problem.
Right now I am working on reading RTD's on the GPIO of a raspberry pi and documenting on visio. I am going to attempt to read the temp of 4 RTD's on one pi and create a temp gauge with pyqt for each probe on a small display. I am about half way there, i can read the temp of one probe. Will post the visio when its complete.
