What Else Would You Like To See in Our Labview Group?

We are creating a NI LabVIEW Community  group on element14. Right now, we are putting a lot of resource information in it. But we expect that the group will be a place to get support when one needs it.

Question: is there anything else you would like to see in our LabVIEW group?

Neat, I used this tool a lot when I was working at Leeds University.

Do you think it would make sense as some kind of challenge?  Or more just sharing of projects?   Just trying to think how we get this started.

It is probably a good idea to start with educational content. Maybe a webinar. Show members what it is like to program in LabVIEW. Maybe some tips-and-tricks style road tests would help. Somehow show the extensive flexibility of LabVIEW in handling all kinds of sensors, instruments and interfaces as well as analyzing data. The trick is to highlight applications that resonate with a variety of members. Of course a design challenge would put it in the spotlight so that is always good.

I second dougw 's idea.  I used LabVIEW (a little bit) many years ago and loved it.  Graphical circuit design was a real paradigm shift for a guy that was also still doing ladder logic.  I would need a reboot.

dkibbey , I went for the "sharing of projects" option. I've started posting a project on Labview Blogs .

I think that, by nature, it's going to be a niche (but very interesting) subject on the forum. It's hard to find people that get enthusiastic about (automated) software testing. Ever tried to hire someone when the job description says "will be responsible for testing our code"? Blush

The same seems to be true for automating a test setup.
