Community Guardian

Community Guardian
Helping to moderate the site of spam and abusive content.
I Just wanted to remind you of the power we have to keep our community a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

When you see any content that is abusive or needs moderation, don't hesitate to report it as 'spam/abusive'. Not only will you be helping to keep the community a great place, but you'll also earn the title of "Community Guardian" an achievement to show off your efforts when the moderation team see that you're a regular contributor to reporting content that needs acting upon.

Look for the 'more' option if you do not immediately see the text to 'report as spam/abusive' on content.

All you have to do is report any content that needs attention, like user profiles, forum posts, replies, or blog posts. The more people that report content, the better.

We're also exploring mechanisms with the development team that will help to prevent spam content before they get a chance to post on the element14 Community.

Together, we can make sure the element14 community is a valuable resource for all.

Thanks for being a part of the team!

Unfortunately, I won't remain part of the 'A-Team' for long. The feature of the site that was helping me spot the embedded-link spam was the content stream that used to be at the base of the Members page. For some reason, when I first looked at the site in the morning (UK time) there'd often be one or two sitting there in the comments that had cropped up since the day before. I've only come across one since the content stream disappeared.

I liked to follow the members what's new page for new posts and discussions but it's gone stale for everything but blog posts. I assume it will come back one day... Slight smile

I hadn't even realised 'What's New on Element 14' had been expanded and had a content stream on it - I was using the one on the 'Members' page. How do you know these things? Do you look at everything and try and piece together a map of how it's all organised, or was it just a chance discovery?

I had announced it on the homepage for a while. I acknowledge that isn't adequate Slight smile

We are going to have the activity feed on the homepage. It doesn't help that it's currently got issues:  Resolved: Activity Stream(s) Missing Activity

I can't recall how I found out/discovered it. The blue notifications work fairly well for the topics I am subscribed to. Between the notifications and the what's new page it feels fairly easy to follow along with the discussions happening here/there/everywhere.
