How do you determine the appropriate area to make a post?
I have been struggling lately on where is the appropriate area to make post. I suspect the problem is not unique to me, since I receive notices that posts have been moved from one area to another.
I'm curious on the process individuals follow to make a post. How do you determine the section and then what post format blog, forum,.... Do you have a quick index to find the front to drop your post. (poor bathroom humour there on that line of prose).
Posts related to Arduinos and Raspberry Pi's I kinda got the gist but some other stuff that has come up has left me scratching my head. Let's say you have an electronics question or maybe a programming discussion. I took a stab at the electronics question Replacement alternative to an NTE263 power transistor I'm not sure I got the right area. It was question related to motors and it was a driver but me thinks there may have been a more appropriate spot.
When I have content to post, whether it be a question or start a discussion. I'm more focused on getting the post out there so I can get a response. The answer's are more important to me than picking the spot to make the post. I appreciate picking the right spot is important to keep the content organized. I find myself struggling lately.
I think there might be new features being added to the site and I miss them. Here is an example of a post Congratulations to the element14 admin team - now hitting 100% uptime I thought a post I made was lost and it was just me with menu-itis. Not using the appropriate menu to find what I was looking for.
I'm hoping first I posted this question in the right area but more important that some pointers from the senior folks or the juniors members that have mastered technology would improve my contribution. Well maybe not the contribution at least improve where they are posted.
