I have selected "Other", because I think I have to improve my knowledge and practices of DevOps, assimilate DevOps culture.

DevOps coordinates areas such as development, IT operations, security and quality engineering to help produce better and more reliable products.

These are some DevOps practices on which I need to learn more:

    • CI/CD Continous integration and continous delivery
    • Version Control
    • Agile development
    • IaC Infrastructure as code
    • CM Configuration Management
    • Continuous monitoring

I have stepped back from creating animations with Arduino's. I like to get back into that.

In 5-10 years, machine learning will be as ubiquitous as a GUI or capacitive touch screen today. We'll have complex neural networks running on every device just like we have Arm core microcontrollers in anything that uses energy.,

So, I see the personal need to improve my machine learning understanding (and usage) massively.

I checked software - which includes 2 facets:

    1. software programming languages - need to be multilingual in java, python & C

    2. software configuration, productivity and simulation tools - BLE, IOT, circuit analysis & simulation, software generation, creating ML

For work me:  Data analysis.  The company I work for just started with a new segment of industrial equipment so I get to learn all about that.  For Tinkerer me:  AI/ML.

I agree with baldengineer , machine learning is exploding exponentially and will be used everywhere. I also expect the implementation tools to become super simple to use, but either way it will be essential for developers to understand in order to leverage it effectively.

This year I really hope to brush up on software programming skills.  Hopefully I will find a project to help me along in this endeavor.

That's a difficult question, at least for me. Following my interests simulation and hardware are what I would like to improve the most. On the other hand, I would also like at least to learn basics of a bunch of other things as software, data analysis and AI. Foundamentals of project management and quality management somewhat interest me too, mainly because I think they have important implication on how I could effectively "attack" and carry over whatever I do in a more effective way even on a personal basis and not only on a large project with lots of people involved.

Overall, too many things to learn Joy
    (I selected other of course!)

Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (21%) stands out as the most likely to advance one's career or increase income. The reason for this is the rapid growth and widespread applicability of AI and ML across various industries. Companies are increasingly adopting AI and ML technologies to optimize their processes, develop innovative products, and gain a competitive advantage.

Developing expertise in AI and ML opens up opportunities in research, development, and implementation of AI/ML-driven solutions. In addition, professionals with AI/ML skills are in high demand, often commanding higher salaries compared to other areas. By focusing on AI and ML, one can position themselves at the forefront of technological advancements and increase their value in the job market.
