Moved to Europe, need help in being active in the community again

HI!

It's been a long time since I was last active in the community.  I was busy moving to a beautiful country in Europe for my new job.

I started working as an Antenna Engineer (which is also my masters specialization) at Ericsson in Tallinn, Estonia.

Now that I'm finally in Estonia, I'm still trying to figure our how to participate in e14 design challenges and be more active in the community. Unfortunately, I left all my tools and instruments back at my home in India

as it was not feasible to move them here. I'm looking to buy some basic tools and instruments here like multimeter, screwdriver kit, power supply, breadboard, etc here.

If I start to participate in challenges here, and the kit is shipped to me, I'm not sure about the customs and taxation rules in Estonia or EU/ Schengen region. Do I have to pay the customs taxes? Is there any declaration to be filed for international shipments? Back in India we had to provide our ID documents and address proof to UPS for customs clearance.

It would be great if any members here from the EU or Estonia could help me with the customs rules here Slight smile

If you travel to Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Netherlands or Germany, shout. (if you don't, shout too. I'll try to convince you)

Also remember to update your address in Element14 profile. rscasny stated few months ago, that they will not send anything to different address than address in the user profile.

Welcome to Europe. Estonia is a great unknown to me. I worked for a few years in Stockholm in Sweden, the weather in Estonia must be very similar to that in Sweden, you will have to prepare for the cold and those short winter days. Congratulations on your new job.

Regarding customs rules, as you have been told, they are very dependent on each country but don't worry, the element14 staff does everything possible so that it isn't a nightmare for you and you don't have to pay anything.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a small country and many people even in the EU haven't been here. It's getting cold now and the winters are pretty harsh here but the locals seem to be unaffected by it, it's still summer for some Laughing
I'll check the customs rules here. Thanks!
