The community staff use them to determine the activity and reputation of users to give them opportunities on the site (and often freebies), and we may have the functionality of the site that bases itself on those points.
We've looked at offering tangible rewards, but that's problematic for ensuring legitimacy, maybe we should use it to unlock some other nice things on the site?
