What is happening in the EveryCircuit simulation?

AntonioArts
AntonioArts over 1 year ago

Hello everyone!

I've started to discover an exciting world of electronics and ICs

But there is one thing that bothers me after I've created it  Sweat smile

Here is a link to the circuit https://everycircuit.com/circuit/5216254553751552/capacitor-with-led

1. I can't get why there is some phantom behavior before I apply current to the scheme it appears around 10 seconds after starting the simulation
2. Why is the current continues to flow after the capacitor is discharged

Thank you!

It's likely because the simulator is trying to model everything as a perfect component, and it's breaking the simulation somehow (it could be anything, even a divide by zero!). I can't drive that everycircuit…

Good question. I have no answer.

oi kinda looks like a slow AC frequency is riding on top too.

Its a supercapactive diode with high inductance. Its ringing like a bell.

Removing the LED does not change the behavior after the button release
