With technology advancing at such a rapid pace, the components we're using now might not be the same five years from now. Take the poll and in the Comments section, let us what you think students should learn to best prepare themselves for when they graduate.

  • How to use and produce PCB design software for whatever is the most-used CNC PCB manufacturing hardware of the day. I have never used such equipment (most of it appeared after I retired) but I imagine it might only work with selected components, especially CPU's which seem to get smaller and/or have more pins every week. Other considerations will be clearances and distances as required by RF-oriented chips. It's not just about getting the electrons from A to B.
