I am still in the getting acquainted stage with my Rigol DS1104Z plus that I recently bought. So far, I am very happy. I find the menus to be a challenge, put I really like some of the advanced trigger function, like I2c address match. I need a really tough project to put it through its paces to see it I am super happy with it.
(opinion:) The best way to build trigger muscle, for any scope, are analogue circuits.
For the DSxxxxZ, switch mode power circuits (smps) are great. Because they have complex waveforms, within the bandwidth of these scopes.
+1 color matching probes to channels, -1 for the ground lead
Overall 10/10
Defence: using a ground spring didn't improve the view.
Perhaps the camera was a hand-held mobile phone with no timer or remote shutter release pretending to be a real camera on a tripod. I'm sorry Jan, please accept my apology, but I'm a "camera-on-phone-phobe". To me, the two functions should never be in the same box. Too many compromises.
