What're you up to this weekend?

I'm going to tinker with different soundcards I have, USB and PCI to see which is better at storing and playing audio from old vinyl records that I have.

What do/don't you have planned?

I will be building timelapse videos from my timelapse still images. This week generated some great sunset images with lots of color.

Raspberry Pico and FreeRTOS tests. The RTOS can schedule and run tasks on both cores of a RP2040. I'm checking if this works well with the new Pico C/C++ SDK 2.0

I build all of the electronics, and he designs all of the prop pieces (3D printed skulls and arms).

Attending an artisan Japanese sword making craftsman somewhere near Tokyo.  Probably not quite the intention of the original question, but there you go!

Installing and learning some hypervisors. I’m thinking proxmox and xcp-ng. The new owners of the most popular VM software are making it hard to keep using them.

That’s what I’m hoping to get to. The CNC has the controller board on it, but it needs a computer to send the instructions to it (is it also gcode for these things?)

I was using a laptop to run it but then I upgraded to a Mac Mini so the Raspberry Pi is the only thing portable enough (with an old little TV).

That’s one feature I really enjoy about the Ender 3D printer - it has a little SD card slot, so it runs by itself.

But… today we were rock picking haha… and as we were leaving there she starts telling me her plans for tomorrow’s work goals Laughing.  Why is the rainy season taking so long to get here!! Wink

I tried Octoprint - I didn't like the extra time it takes and my prints weren't great (extra stringiness)

I might be able to improve the quality, but not the speed, so I am trying something more radical..

    Started by picking blackberries.

Then talked to joiner/handyman about making  a new garden gate and some other work on the house.

Came to work and re-issued a proposal I did yesterday for a customer because I thought of a MUCH better way to do it while picking blackberries.

Now thinking of what to do with the 3/4 of a weekend I have left - probably design a front panel board for the GPIB bus analyser project.

I forgot do disclose that I was also going to do precision sampling with the Renesas RX23E-A microcontroller from a previous roadtest  (/products/roadtest/rv/roadtest_reviews/1705/renesas_solution_starter_kit_for_rx23e-a_out_of_box_experience).
