Are you interested in learning more about Isolated DC-DC converters? If you are at all curious about transformer selection, optimising for performance, or safety and regulatory standards then this session was created with you in mind. Join Cathal Sheehan, technical marketing manager at Bourns, as he guides you through the whole design process from start to finish. Take part in this webinar to be in the running for a competition with a prize worth up to $215. Check out the full agenda, prize details and how to win by clicking here.

Discover how cutting-edge MEMS sensors work, what different kinds there are and how they are being integrated into devices like drones and impacting industries, using agriculture as an example. Learn more about the event and register by clicking here.

Plus, don't forget there is also still time to enter our seasonal winter competition Snowflake️Snowman2️ which closes on the 17th and has big prizes that are definitely worth building an electronics project and competing for Trophy

This is going to be an exciting year with lots of activities still to come and I can't wait!

There's no set topic for the next E14 competition just yet, but with the Holidays competition concluding soon I think the time will soon be right to start talking about the next challenge. Please feel…

I definitely do think a challenge based around completing unfinished projects or using things already laying around would be really interesting. Reminds me of the TV show Scrapheap Challenge (Junkyard…

Fresh from holidays time off , here maybe some ideas to inspire E14 topics for the northern hemisphere: How about "Beat the Winter Blues" as a Winter ( February - March ) 2025 competition. A project…

Reminds me of the TV show Scrapheap Challenge (Junkyard Wars in the US).

'The Great Egg Race' in the 80's was another good one. Both for the original rubber band powered  'eggmobiles' and then the later problem-solving builds that followed on.

I always wished that they had done a similar series but over a longer build duration with a bit more 'refined' end result. Especially if you consider the likes of what some of the hot rod and custom bike scenes were managing to produce from scrapyards from the 30's onwards. Also some of the projects that have been made out of recycled timber from pallets, old furniture etc. in order to create new equipment enclosures.

A good way to get set up for more project work is to build instrumentation for the lab. A power supply, an electronic load, a frequency counter, an inductor winder - there are lots of kit that a lab could use. What instrumentation is on your list to build?
