ChatGPT designs an Audio Amplifier

It is getting smarter every day, the schematic made me smile.

Could you clarify what type of circuit you'd like? For example:

  1. Type of Circuit: Oscillator, amplifier, power supply, etc.
  2. Specific Components: Op-amp, microcontroller, 555 timer, etc.
  3. Voltage Levels: Supply voltage and expected output.
  4. Purpose: Any specific functionality you'd like to achieve.

Let me know, and I can create a schematic tailored to your needs!

Here’s a simple schematic for a basic audio amplifier using a common operational amplifier like the LM386, which is popular for audio applications:

Components:

  1. IC: LM386
  2. ...
  3. Power Supply: 9V DC

Circuit Description:

  1. Input: Audio signal is fed through a coupling capacitor (C1) to remove any DC component.
  2. ...
  3. Decoupling: A capacitor (C3) filters noise in the power supply.

Would you like me to refine this or provide the actual schematic drawing?

Eventually the web will be so polluted by bad AI circuits that it will be impossible to find out how to use simple parts like the LM386.

We'll have to go back to data sheets in books or sent by post to be sure we are getting good information.

I suppose I should check, you haven't spent the last 6 months trying to get your LM386 to work, have you ?

    Relaxed

ChatGPT must be sponsored by the capacitor companies, those 250 uF caps are not cheap (also probably higher than necessary).  It seems kind of wrong to isolate the input so completely from the amplifier.
