New work bench

Workshopshed
Workshopshed 10 months ago

Since moving into the new workshop last year I had been using a spare TV unit with a board on the top of it as a workbench.

But just before Christmas this got reclaimed as we had finished decorating a room and we wanted to put a TV on it.

So I invested in an industrial metal bench which came with 2 chipboard shelves. I painted these with some exterior paint and finally assembled these the other week.

There's enough space to be working on projects and still have some spare for repairs and other odd jobs.

Very nice.  The low bench and classic persuader on the left of the picture are also pretty cool.

The story on the low bench is that it was made by my grandfather in law in the early 1970s. He welded the frame from tube and bought the waney edged timber from the lumber yard. It is actually a coffee table and was used for the kids dinners at Christmas and for playing cards.

The mallet was used to put the bench together it was tabs and slots in the metal.
