You might want to tack on a "charge per component" that gets added up and then remultiplied by the number of components...

b=base charge per hour (computed elsewhere)
h=hours of work
s=surcharge
** is the exponential operator (for FORTRAN fans)
Total = b*h + b**c + s
s=$1000*[number of objections client makes to this quite reasonable fee]
It sounds like we need a separate AI to calculate the fee....
