My ESP plane

Hi Element14 community,

I'm currently working on an innovative RC plane project using the ESP32 DevKit V1 as the flight controller. The goal is to create a competition-ready aircraft capable of real-time GPS telemetry using NRF24L01+PA+LNA modules for long-range communication. The system also includes a ground station based on Arduino Uno, which will receive the data and display or forward it to a mobile device.

Project Overview:

NEO-6M GPS module on the plane collects real-time GPS data.

Data is transmitted via NRF24L01+PA+LNA to the Arduino Uno ground station.

Optionally, the data is forwarded to a mobile phone via Bluetooth or USB.

Components Needed:

ESP32 DevKit V1 – 1x

Arduino Uno – 1x

NEO-6M GPS Module – 1x

NRF24L01+PA+LNA (with antenna) – 2x

NRF24L01 Adapter Boards – 2x

18650 or LiPo Battery + Voltage Regulator – 1x

Jumper wires and connectors

(Optional) HC-05 or BLE Module – 1x

I Would Like to Ask:

1. Can you help verify the feasibility of this system for reliable long-range GPS telemetry?

2. Are there any project references or documentation on Element14 that can guide me?

3. Most importantly, would Element14 be able to help provide or sponsor these components for my project?

This is a competition-oriented build, and I’m aiming for first place with a creative and technically sound solution. Any support, advice, or guidance from the Element14 team would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your time and help!

Best regards,
Jeevan

It is not a particularly great look to be back begging for free stuff, with AI written text, especially with zero track record of actually finishing projects. What happened to the previous project you…

    Hello Element14 Team and Community,

Thank you so much for your support and feedback on my flying model project idea!

As I continue development, I’d like to kindly ask if Element14 could help with sourcing or sponsoring the essential components for this build. This is an educational project exploring GPS-based navigation, wireless long-range control, and efficient aerial stability using open hardware.

Here’s the complete and updated list of required parts:

    ---

    Core Components (Onboard Aircraft):

    1 × ESP32 DevKit V1 (main flight controller)

    1 × NEO-6M GPS module

    1 × NRF24L01+PA+LNA (long-range RF communication)

    1 × AMS1117 3.3V regulator module (with capacitors for NRF24L01)

2 × TowerPro SG90 servo motors (for rudder and elevator control)

1 × A2212 1000KV Brushless Outrunner Motor (commonly used in RC planes)

1 × 30A Brushless ESC (Electronic Speed Controller for A2212)

    1 × 3S 11.1V 2200mAh LiPo battery

    1 × 1045 Propeller (10x4.5, compatible with A2212 motor)

Anti-vibration foam pads or rubber standoffs

    Locking connectors (e.g., JST-XH, DF13)

    ---

    Remote Ground Controller (Handheld Transmitter):

1 × Arduino Uno R3 (used as the controller)

    1 × NRF24L01 module (standard version)

    1 × Thumb joystick module

1 × 9V battery or USB power supply

    Optional / Future Expansion:

    BLE module (for alternative communication)

    Barometric pressure sensor (altimeter)

    LoRa module (for ultra-long-range testing)

Lightweight foam or balsa material for the airframe

    Kindly let me know:

    1. Does Element14 provide or stock these components?

    2. Would it be possible to receive any support or sponsorship for this educational and innovative project?

I truly value the Element14 community and hope to bring this flying model to life with your support and guidance.

    Warm regards,

    [Fg_]

Fg_ , you are on the community website of element14. To ask about stock and sales, you 'd have to go to the online store in your region. There's a Store link in the header.
