I'm a new member saying Hi

NivKuf2
NivKuf2 25 days ago

I am new to this sort of forum, I have only fiddle about over a few years, as I retired some years ago, just looking at this site it looks very complicated & above my head. I am only into very basic things with electronics but am interested in learning more. So hope I can get some answers very basic comments. I found out about this site from Workbook Wednesday on You tube. I recently bought a Hantek DS02D15 digital oscilloscope as I felt the price was cheap (its new, big boys toys) but not sure whether I have done the right thing, as struggling to work out how it all works. So I hope this forum can help me with it. I have found other sites on You tube that show you how to use different models of oscilloscopes, but not the Hantek DS02D15, yes I see they all do the same job, but to get some of hose things to work on my scope is a battle. I must say I would be lost with out my Multi Meter. So thank you in advance for what I may learn hear in the future. Slight smile

I'm not sure if you found this link: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/hantek-dso2x1x-firmware-updates-and-best-use-practices/ But it may help. I would suggest playing with the scope as delivered…

There is quite a lot of information on the web specific to the Hantek DS02D15 - it's worth taking a day or so looking for stuff to help you get the hang of your scope.

If there is some thing you are having trouble with then post some pictures and ask some questions here.

It looks as if this scope had  a lot of software issues when first released so its worth checking you have the latest "firmware" loaded on to yours.

Hi, Welcome to the element14 community!
Even though you bought Hantek's DS02D15, Basics of how to use oscilloscopes remains the same.
There are plenty of youtube videos on the same. I would advice you to go through as many as you can to get an idea.
If you can any specific questions I would be more than happy to help!

Welcome to the element14 community.  There is a very diverse of members here, from beginners like yourself, up to full career engineers that have many years of experience.  There is something for everybody here.  The easiest way to get help with a problem, is to describe the issue you are having, with a lot of detail and pictures. Describe what has worked, and what does not work.

Welcome to the e14 community.  I have an old school analog scope.  These days I use it to look at audio signals... nothing fancy.... so I guess what I am saying is that you can still get good use out of your scope even if you're not using its more advanced features.

    Welcome to our humble abode.

If you don't understand a post, ask a question. I suspect there are others that need the answer as well. Rarely have I seen the glib reply of RTFM to fob anyone off.

I have a back ground in teaching adults. If I read a post of someone struggling to understand, I enjoy the challenge of re-framing the information if I know something.

Welcome to E14, the happenin place for all things teckky.  To get started learning, first calibrate the scope probes. adjusting the scaling and sweep period will take you far in learning the basics.
