Any one attempted to build a simple descrite, switch mode power supply

    When you say discrete do you mean limiting yourself to transistors?  I seem to recall that your recent ADC project has a ramp generator built from a BJT.  I suppose you could use that to drive a MOSFET switch connected to an inductor.

    Lol, I have not quite decided on the Topology yet, just to correct you, my adc used a LM1117 adj in CC mode, and not a BJT.

    this is going to be another I was bored at home, so I made a descrete switch mode power supply.

    Either way, it will be interesting to see what you come up with... if you allow yourself to use opamps and comparators the potential to build something cool will be there.
