I picked up something like this about three years ago. No regrets.
Though I can't help but feel like I'm also adding to the climate problem.

On the inside, or outside of the window? and is it double glazed?
At work, my window cracked due to the heat (dark colored shade). When it was replaced, we added reflective film and it has been fine since.
