Art of Electronics X chapters arrived

Jan Cumps
Jan Cumps 5 days ago

I've been looking out for the X-chapters book of the Arts of Electronics.

I pre-ordered it, and it was expected to arrive end august. That got postponed a few times, but today, my book arrived.

I don't know what chapter I'll read first. Not planning on reading this book from cover to cover, but to cherry-pick subjects based on my mood.

Maybe in 2033 Slight smile. I don't plan to read this as a book.

Like with the AoE proper, I read something somewhere, when I'm in the mood. Or when I'm designing something.

If I read something that I can try out on the bench, I'll definitely post that.

Care to post a RoadTest Book Review? I am almost at the end of the third edition and was wondering, do I use my spare change to buy a new hockey stick for my grandson or the book.

I love that they for sure pushed the electronics into the 21st century, but kept the art retro, and refused to update the slanted technical drawing lines/typography style on the cover : ) It fits just right into the 1980's : )

Seeing the side by side thickness makes it clear the publisher wasn't playing around! Can't wait to see what kind of circuit stability and sensor wizardry is hidden inside those extra pages.

but it does appear to be literally double the size

Looks like the publisher used thicker paper ?

500 pages on the left, 688 pages on the right.

Either that or MK has applied a compression algorithm... Slight smile

    X-chapters two has:  1..4, 9, 15

15 is a 100 page chapter about sensors.

Alright, I was in two minds about getting the second, but it does appear to be literally double the size.

Maybe we should have a book swap-shop.
