Repurposing things that have been declared broken ⛓︎‍

Just decided to finally share some of my ideas of how to repurpose something that breaks down and give it a new life.

So, my e-reader broke down during the car ride from Switzerland last year, when it felt down and got stuck on the Hemingway book //my wife was using the reader mostly.

I was suppose to throw it out, but I also have an electronics box to mess around with later. And so today during my work from home day I had the idea to use Claude code to finally see if anything can be done about this poor e-reader, as a few weeks ago Claude helped me repair my old Arduino uno R4 Wifi copy that got stuck into bootloader and nothing worked to fix it, so it was collecting dust until Claude inspected it, reinstalled the software and made it work again like new //it got half of the software deleted after official update..

Anyways, I managed to connect the e-reader, switch the USB none to the actual USB to be discoverable, after spending time on the recovery mode.

And here is the result below; I decided to check if a Sudoku board fits on it, and the current time and battery %. It did, and it's playable too.

I can write more about the process if there is interest, and when I am at the computer, as for once I tried to post something from my phone.

Definitely interested!  I have an unresponsive Kindle I would love to put to other uses.
