I wonder technology today will be the subject of such fodder tomorrow. Any guesses?

Yes they have. I spotted this while at Bletchly Park. For the larger disk ... 4MB/side 100-410mS access 52-157k bytes per sec transfer time. Mark

Smart phone!? Why would anyone call that thing smart? Cancer? Is that like a constellation?

The guess is human-like artificial intelligence.

That's an "old" floppy disk?  3.5" HD?

    That's not old.  I've got an 8" single-density single-sided somewhere...

At first I thought these were round tables turned on their sides...I am no better than the kid who thought the disk was 3D printed...oh dear...

I have an old ferrite core memory board framed in my house.

Some people know what it is, but most do not.

When I explain it to them they just stare in amazement.

PS, I have one of those 14 inch disk platters I salvaged from an old PDP 11/05 system I purchased for $5 USD.

HaHa   yes you could think that without knowing the context.

To be fair these are the raw component so obviously you wouldn't see them like this normally (much like you never see the internals of a modern hard drive)
