Hi guys
We recently announced an exciting new collaboration with Team Sonnenwagen Aachen, a collective of engineering students from RWTH Aachen University and Aachen University of Applied Sciences.
element14 will be providing components and support for the team as they prepare to participate in the World Solar Challenge, a 3022km race across Australia in a solar-powered vehicle that they must design and build themselves.
The World Solar Challenge takes place in October 2017. You can follow the progress of Team Sonnenwagen Aachen in our dedicated sub-space, where they will be posting regular updates on their journey.
We really want our members to play an active role in this challenge by offering constructive feedback and advice to Team Sonnenwagen as they complete their build and make the final preparations for their trip to Australia. So please do take a look and let them/us know what you think.
Due to the competitive nature of the World Solar Challenge, the team can't publicly reveal full details of their build until after the challenge takes place. However, we are looking at creating a small private 'reference group' of members who could potentially provide feedback and advice on more detailed schematics.
If this is something you'd be interested in getting involved with, please drop me a private message or email me at JLucas@premierfarnell.com. We're particularly interested in members with relevant experience in solar, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and aerodynamics.
