Hello, my name is Craig. I am a new member of the e14 community and am excited to be here. I am interested in electronics, technology, systems, and programming. I am no expert by any means but am eager to learn as much as I can from community members and make some cool stuff!

Hi Craig, Welcome to the forum. Do you have any specific areas of interest at this time. We have quite a bit of diversity and if you check things out you are sure to find something of interest. John

Welcome to the community. You will find some great resources for learning here (essentials), the possibility of getting cool stuff for nothing more than a detailed write up (road test) and a heap of knowledgeable folk.

If you have any questions feel free to ask - someone on here would have done something that may help.

    Hi John, thanks.

In the past, i have made small gadgets, a media centre, audiophile, retropie. The usual stuff i guess. Lately my main interests has turned to home automation and I have been trying to embed micro controllers and computers into 'things'.

The site is extensive and I'm still poking around to ensure i post things in the right place. There are a few things i have been working on lately. Where is a good place to post them for discussion?

    Hi Warren, and thanks.

I signed up for the Road Test already. It seems like a great opportunity to product test some interesting gadgets. I hope that i am eligible at some point. I'm in western Canada and getting things here can be a time consuming production so i don't imagine I'll be bumped to the top of the list.

Sorry about the pocket clicks. I didn't know the function.

    Hi Craig,

If it is about something I am doing I usually post as a Blog post.  This does not require the choice of a category or a place. Otherwise I will post as a discussion and choose a location or category that fits the subject. If it is a question be sure to check the question box as this will attract more attention. Many of us follow most of the  groups and categories so that anything posted anywhere comes across our active stream. You may want to go through the list and select the groups, topics and categories that are of interest to you and follow them. Then when you view all activity the things recently posted to those areas will be on your activity stream.

    John

    Hi Craig,

rctho Your location won't affect road test eligibility. There are other active members out in Western Canada. Check out some of the successful road test proposals on the forum to get a feel for what works. You can edit your proposal until the submission deadline. Good luck.
