16 Dec 2024

The holidays are here once again and that means another season of gift-giving. If you've got an engineer in your life, somewhere in this wishlist is the perfect gift!

And if you have your own ideas on what the perfect gift for an electrical engineer is, please tell us in the comments section below!

AC/DC Pen-Type Digital Multimeter

Voltage is the first thing most electrical engineers measure. Multimeters are a tool that engineers should never leave home without!

Soldering Station

Out of all an electrical engineer's tools, the soldering iron probably gets the most use.

Desoldering Iron

Pumps and braids work well, but a dedicated desoldering iron makes the job easier.

Hot Air Station

Sometimes engineers need to work with surface-mount components. For such tiny jobs, a hot air station works wonders.

Function Generator

Many applications require signals at different frequencies. When testing, function generators are used to create those signals.

For my home lab, I have 3 multimeters, a Fluke current clamp, various hand tools such as soldering equipment and screwdrivers, and a dual-voltage power supply. The only piece of equipment missing from my setup is a good dual-channel 100 MHz oscilloscope, which I currently borrow from a couple of sources when needed.

I've also noticed inconsistencies between comments and posts. Maybe an update is needed.

e14phil  is the ability to travel back in time still available on this post?

The first two post  robogary &  me_Cris   are made over 1 year ago, well before the Dec. 16, 2024 it indicates you made the post.

I didn't see time travel on the list of products. Maybe it expired:)
