A Musical Vagabond...Meets The RasPi3 B

So,

I am what you would call, in vocation, a "Professional Recording Artist." In "Life" I am more like, the guy you see out your office window, reading a manual for some gadget that I am tryin out, while I await the "Words" to come so I can swiftly return to the studio and cut tracks for my next LP. Needless to say, in the last 2 years, I have more been the fellow who reads the manuals, than the "RAWK STAH" who is cutting scratch track.

Now don't get it twisted, "Music" has been good to me, for the most part. But I have suddenly discovered that I have what almost ALL writers dread, and TRULY believe it would NEVER happen to them. Yup, "Writer's Block." Like a thief in the night, it followed me by day, memorized my life algorithms, made sure that I was in FULL STATION Readiness, and POUNCED!!

I was suddenly being "metaphorically" heckled by young children for parading around with no clothes on, never knowing that I had trusted a "Wag The Dog" ideal, in which I literally watched this "Spin Doctor" weave a gown of success that had only 1 true thing, I was naked...with nothing to say about it. I have to point out that this epidemic is most likely completely different for each and every fallen Gonzo whom is and/or was afflicted, however, this is the most intimate way I can describe how it has become a tick, embedded now in my own life.

Now, I say that, to say this...AMAZON. Yes, Amazon may have just saved both my life and my very career. Allow me to take you back...to a very hectic and tiring December 2016. I was up late per usual, as I am nocternal, and I was perusing the "Internet machine" in order to save my "Awesome Uncle" status...I needed to purchase 2 amazing gifts for my nephews.

Eniter...December 16th, 2016...3:48AM...and it came down to...Legos...and something recommended by Amazon. Something called the "Raspberry Pi 3" ... Ya know...for the Kids! I made a life choice, as my nephews are now between the ages of 7 and 13...it was a chance I had to take. Add to cart...resume shopping...read about the RasBPi3...go back to shopping...add ALL accessories required to actually allow said items to actuate...ya know...electricity and all...For the Kids! Add to cart...become fascinated by the second...finally ready to purchase with legal tender...digitally. Read the invoice...print the invoice...go back to finding out more about the RasBPi3...All of a sudden become irrationally jealous that my nephews are going to soon obtain what can only be described as "I WANT THAT!"

Dec 25th, 2016...2:00AM...a call is made to my cellular device, it also takes calls too...Screaming occurs to emblazon my VERY tired brain...Good screaming...screams of joy for being the "BEST UNCLE IN THE FAMILY!"... they only have 1 Uncle...There is no way to Quantify that, the Whitehouse backs my Play on that by the way...much later by a "Councilor to Someone" in that big White House...not many folks left is all.

February 10, 2017...I take what is mine...this is not revenge I am lookin for, it's a reckoning. As I purchase my wonder of technical achievements, I do not realize that Amazon had actuated my "1 Click Purchase" option...I turn it off...after the bundle is purchased...AFTER I realize I had purchased a RasBPi3 Bundle...I make no attempt to complain or contact anyone at Amazon for this indiscretion...Giddy...I am GIDDY...due to the Accesories accidentally added...a "Premium Case for RasBPi3 and a 7" Touch screen"...i freak out when they arrive.

i freak out when they arrive...no drones deliver to me...yet...I live in the Seattle area...they know my address...I have a pellet shooter...I'm ready for the onslaught.

Feb 18th, 2017...I am still staring at the 3 boxes that carry my most amazing items...I have no ability to utilize said products...I had neglected to also purchase a "Beginner's Kit"...the one with the power supply.

Feb 22nd, 2017 2:19AM...RIGHT NOW...Amazon...I now purchase the very items that will enable my other items to receive the proper power, some wires, and I do believe something that resembles the same structures that are expected to keep some folks from entering some places that probably don't need those kinda structures anyway cause FREEDOM and CONSTITUTION and I WAS IN THE MILITARY, and gave them a chunk of my life and body so that we could negotiate what it means to be safe and secure in knowing that there IS still a place that will accept those that are simply tryin to escape the dangers of tyranny...I have no concerns that my new RasBPi3 will be in any danger and hope maybe I won't need said tiny structures due to the design of the case that enables room for all that come...maybe I will repurpose those tiny structures into a tiny park.

Feb 22nd 2017...2:30AM...it is now the future...and I am living in the past...but only until I get the tracking number from AMAZON...I now have a new hobby...maybe 2 new hobbies...the 1st...awaiting the "Words" to come so that I may SWIFTLY resign myself back the studio and write my 3rd LP...the 2nd...

Feb 22nd 2017 2:33AM...I'm living in the past...I'M GIDDY!!! Please help me with my 2nd new hobby...I have no idea how to tell people that I have a legitimate 2nd hobby due to my lack of "RasBPi3 B" acumen...please provide acumen in my inbox...I'm runnin low. I'M GIDDY!!!!! ChristyZRaspberry Pi ProjectsMembers Raspberry Pi 3

Welcome to both   forums and the new Raspberry Pi 3 B. After the giddiness settles down, you may want to know what to do next. I have a suggestion which may help: try an online course to cover the basics and go more into it. Offered by the very folks who stand behind the Pi 3, see https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/physical-computing-raspberry-pi-python . They will start slow, but willpick up steam quickly to cover more in depth. As to the 7 inch screen, set aside for the moment. Connect your Pi 3 without and cover the normal. Later when you add the touchscreen, you will know why. As to projects, explore Google because he is your friend in this learning experience. Again, welcome aboard the express train to new adventures awaiting you. Just beware, this hobby can be addictive if not down right fun.
