So I finished bracing the legs this weekend and started the slow and painful process of refinishing the base, I added cross braces in the top section and bottom which improved it dramaticaly. The table doesn't wobble like it used to and is much more sturdy. I added two extra cross braces in the top and three on the bottom section of the pase. Each brace was predrilled with the screws countersunk into the wood for a nice finish. Now I begun the long slow process of refinishing all the particle board pieces with birch panelling, it takes forever because im not using and screws to hold it in place and each piece must be clamed in overnight. I only have enough clamps to do one piece at a time so this will take a while, im hoping to finish this stage by the end of this week and move onto the playing surface itself. also i just purchased new pockets so as soon as those come in i will start working on the bumpers which will be all brand new with designs and my initials carved into them.
