Building the Haynes Retro Arcade Electronics Kit

Haynes Publishing (the folks behind the indispensable Haynes automotive guides) has released a series of electronics kits targeted at the young STEM-enthusiast. In this video, we'll be assembling the Haynes Retro Arcade electronics kit and seeing if it's worth the $35 price tag.

Seems a bit expensive for what you get but I guess that is due to the pretty low resolution display. Anything better would cost much more. I like the idea though. Dubbie

It's a little pricey considering parts would cost under $10US. You're paying for the brand name and the fact that it's imported from Germany. It's a neat little project box for a kid learning to solder, though. I need to attach some headers and see if I can reprogram it--and maybe stick it in a better enclosure
