There is a certain level of frustration involved when you get back home after a long day's work to find a little piece of paper in the letterbox - Sorry! You weren't home. Your parcel is waiting for you in <insert name of company that is sufficiently close, but closes too early>. Oh well.
Anyway, three days later, I managed to go to said shop and get my parcel. My girlfriend drove me, and her expression was priceless when she saw the size of the box waiting for me. I smiled, trying to say that I didn't think that it would be this big, and that it wasn't my fault, but she didn't believe me. She was probably right.
When I arrived at home, I opened it. It was a box. A nice big box with a raspberry for a logo. She knows all about Raspberry Pis, I mean we have some, and we've had them for a while now. Only this box was different. It was bigger.
We were off for Christmas celebrations with the family, so it immediately went in the car so that I'd have something to play with during those long and awful unending Christmas meals. I'll write a little more about this later, but suffice to say that I'm really impressed with the kit! I'm going to have a lot of fun, and so are my students.
Happy holidays to everyone! And thanks Santa Claus. I never knew that element14 was based at the north pole... Some of his little helpers are very, very nice.
