I just found CircuitPy! Wow this is impressive. While I love C++ in the Arduino and have written some fun code with it ( see https://github.com/grondak/Reinforcements ), I'm really interested in Python. There's so much activity around Python these days. So many first-time learners use Python. This is a great step to marrying electronics and software. I have the opportunity to show this to a young mentee in the next couple of months and he will learn so much faster than if he had started with Arduino. Oh, another thing: the Python stuff you learn is transferrable to a software-only environment (i.e. web programming, stats, machine learning) etc.
