After the race we were thinking concern new ideas. The mechanical construction was more or less perfect.
So, we had to improve the electrical system. Our new EE members of team had been working in automotive industry for years. They had some new ideas.
The new electrical system design
The vehicle has two different ECUs (Electrical Control Unit).
- Steering electronics
- Motor and fuel-cell control (ECU3)
These units can communicate with each other via CAN bus.
The steering electronics can control logically the throttle, horn, emergency, radio communication (between the driver and pit) with a simple button.
It can show the actual speed and lap time etc.
The ECU3 can control physically the motor and fuel cell furthermore sense the hydrogen leak, speed of vehicle and store the the most important datas (Current, voltage, speed, etc).
