So I'm planing on making a laser engraver, as I already made a cnc router, and I have most of the CAD drawings done. The picture below is an old version of my framing. It is 1x1x1/8 imperial steel, maybe aluminium (only have four TIG welders at my HS). Planning on it being a belt w/ stepper motor driven system. I have the motors already and just need the belts and chassis.
