Well, here I sit in my room watching the minute hand slide by on the clock, in 15 hours I will click into my pedals and roll off the start line punching my one way ticket on the 22.8km time trial coarse. The coarse itself marks the most difficult track we have raced on to date with lots of rolling terrain and a couple of punishing climbs reaching nearly 11% in grade. If I were drawing up my ideal coarse I certainly would not have included the biggest hills in my plan but then again most my competitors would not have either. I have been able to train long and hard for the next few days of racing this year thanks largely to all of your support and encouragement. I lay here excited, nervous, and steaming with energy to take my shot at things...regardless of the outcome this year has been a big stepping stone towards the ultimate prize in London 2012.
.....wow, unexpected as I was penning this note I was informed by the front desk of a special package with my name on it. Imagine my suprise to open up a gift from all my Newark/PF friends wishing me well in this week's races. Your well wishes will certainly fuel my fire as I ride into the pain cave tomorrow. My best to all of you and thanks for being a critical part of my team.
