It's damned easy to get discouraged about a job. When you're in engineering, everybody--production, marketing, sales, management--wants to dump their work in your lap.
I actually LIKE my job. So sue me.
I'm an engineer in non-contact position measurement, specifically eddy-current sensors/electronics. And you'll notice that I did not specify the kind of engineer. For a simple reason--here we have to do everything. Design, manufacturing, repair, final test, sale support. Have I left anything out? Given that, it does mean that we get to do cool things like play with liquid nitrogen, etc.
But don't let anything deter you. If you want any information on eddy-current sensors & electronics, resolution, noise measurement, drop me an email. I plan to try to keep this a running blog on all things eddy-current, because I actually like the stuff.
