First day in the books...

Race one of 2011 and Track World Championships is in the books. Results were a bit of a mixed bag for me you could say. I ended up finishing the individual pursuit with a time of 5:00:10. for 7th place. On one hand my time represented a near 7 second PR which I am very pleased to experience this early in the season and under slow track conditions to boot. On the hand though is the fact that the top is getting crowded and that what was good enough yesterday is not good enough for tomorrow.

And so as I prepare for today's race I find myself celebrating the small victory of improvement in hopes of using this new motivation and success to fuel today's challenges. Afterall it really does not matter if I had or had not a set a new  World Record yesterday;I am an athlete and a competitor, my aim is to always go faster. The journey continues...a new race is on the immediate horizon.

There are 18 months to London, plenty of time to find my stride, but not if I wait for tomorrow...today I relish in the pain that is the kilometer another step towards the top.  Thank you all for being a part of my support and motivation along the way.

Here is a link to the the racing for results/pictures as they become available http://www.mondialiparalimpicimontichiari.it/uk/index.php
