Philo Taylor Farnsworth born today (19th August) 1906 was an  American pioneer in the invention television. He was crucial in the  development of an early all-electonic TV, but he is considered best  known for inventing the first video camera tube, a fully functional  electronic image pick up device, as well as the 'image dissector' a  complete electronic TV system. Farnsworth was also the first person to  demonstrate the device to the general public.

Thanks Drew. I'm trying to get a good mix of the good things we are doing for the community, highlighting some of the features and some lighter fun pieces.

That's great you like the new badges, we've been getting some excellent feedback about them. I'm hoping that as time goes on we can add some additional and custom badges in the near future. Any thoughts on who we could name them after?

Enjoy the look back into electronics history for TGIF.  I really dig the theme of the new badges, too!

    Cheers,

    Drew
